Zabars began over 70 years ago, as an appetizing counter in a local supermarket.

Louis Zabar would travel to the smoke houses and hand-select every piece of smoked fish he sold. He was known to be difficult he would not accept anything but perfection.

Today its Saul Zabar and his daughter Ann who travel to Brooklyn. They make sure that Louis would approve of the smoked fish we sell. Each side of salmon is tasted and has to meet Zabars strict standards after all weve made our reputation Lb at a time...
