Bamboo cutting board, Molokini, measures 6.5" x 6.5". Bamboo is actually 16% harder than maple, making it a superior material for cutting boards & housewares. These unique products are handcrafted using flattened bamboo strips. The cutting boards are laminated with Totally Bamboo's own approved food grade adhesive, without the use of paint or stain. Through a very specialized heating process, the natural sugar in the wood is caramelized producing the beautiful honey color. This color is permanent and will not wash off. Bamboo is a grass that grows to a harvestable height between 3 to 4 years, some species growing up to 2 feet per day. It has an extensive root system that continually sends up new shoots, naturally replenishing itself. It does not require replanting, making it one of the world's most renewable resources.
