Spicy-sweet ground ginger is mostly found in recipes for sweet baked goods, such as gingerbread, spice cake, and pumpkin pie. Some meat dishes, such as lamb curries, call for ground ginger, and it is also a good addition to homemade barbecue sauce. While it is simply dried ginger root, it has a different flavor and shouldn't be used as a substitute for fresh ginger. Ours comes from India, where the ginger grows sweet and hot. 1.75 oz
