Tradition says nutmeg only grows within hearing distance of the sea. This may be true. We've never personally tested it. We have tested this nutmeg, and we approve of its sweet, woodsy flavor. While many pies and cakes call for nutmeg, it also adds depth to cheese dishes, corned beef, homemade ketchup and barbecue sauce, sweet potatoes, and eggnog. We get ours from the East Indies because it has the highest oil content and sweetest taste of all the nutmeg we found. - 2.5 oz (Kosher)
