While we're not advocating making bathtub gin, if you decide to, you'll need juniper berries, as they are what gives gin it's "pine-coney" flavor. Other, more legal uses for the berries are found in Northern European wild bird and game dishes; the Alsatian dish, choucroute garni; and pork and sauerkraut.
